THINGS TO KNOW

This session will have assigned seating. If your group is booking separately, please ensure you leave us a note in the 'Notes/Special Requests' field or send us an email prior to the session. We cannot make any alterations to seating at time of the session as this will cause delay to our schedule and affect all other customers. Groups booking together will automatically be seated together.

There is no ticketing system in place and you will not be sent any physical tickets - just arrive at the session with your booking name and reference number and a member of our team will seat you.

The actual model painting at time of event may vary in colour and technique to inspire creativity and the model painting is only used as a guide to help you achieve your masterpiece. You will find it is very difficult to replicate a model painting exactly and this is not the ultimate goal of our studio - we want you to be creative, have fun with painting and add your own flair to your artwork.

All events will generally run for 3 hours. This encompasses painting time as well as sipping and drying time. We recommended you arrive 5 minutes early so you can grab a seat and your painting equipment, meet fellow painters, open your bottle and unwind before the painting begins.

Painting will not begin until approximately 20 minutes after the scheduled start time so don’t worry if you are running a little late, just contact us at brushandsipau@gmail.com or SMS ONLY 0452 065 650 to let us know. Please note, extra time for late-comers may not be possible.

Our studio is strictly BYO due to RSA licensing laws. Therefore, we are unable to provide any drinks or snacks for the event. We highly encourage guests to bring their own drinks and snacks to have during the session. Food deliveries to the studio are also welcome, however, please ensure the delivery is made after your arrival as we may not be open at other times to accept the delivery. We take no responsibility for incorrect deliveries or accidents with your order - if there are any issues, please contact the restaurant or food delivery company.

Glassware and a limited supply of serving platters is provided, however if you require any specific, including cutlery and other utensils, we recommend bringing your own to the session. You will have access to our fridge to cool your food and drinks.

If required, you are most welcome to leave your painting(s) to pick up at another date. However, we only hold items left behind for 2 weeks after the session (unless we receive further communication). Additionally, our opening hours vary pending on bookings so the studio is not always open during regular business hours. Please check in with the team present at the event for further details if you would like to proceed with this option.

Please also read the COVID-19 section for how our sessions will be changing as a result of the pandemic and the additional hygiene practices and social distancing measures our team will be implementing.

If you require any additional information or if we can be of any further assistance, please email us at brushandsipau@gmail.com

We look forward to brushing and sipping with you!

  • Bookings Policy

    • We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a session due to insufficient booking numbers or unforeseen circumstances. We will contact you as soon as possible should this occur.

    • We have a strict cancellation policy in place, as the services we offer are not like a restaurant, bar or leisure activity venue and we are required to pre-purchase supplies ahead of time, cancellations are costly. We are unable to offer refunds for seat cancellations, however we are happy to reschedule or credit your booking, for another public session of your choice ONLY (provided seating is available).

    • Seating will be strictly allocated for our public sessions and we kindly request that you only sit where the team has directed you, as rearranging seating causes major delay to the session.

    • You are responsible for your own behaviour and belongings. We ask that you drink responsibly, behave in an appropriate manner and look after all your belongings. Anyone deemed to be highly intoxicated or behaving in a disorderly and disruptive manner will be asked to leave the premises.

    • We are not responsible for any paint damages on your clothing or personal property. Please wear something you would not mind getting paint on to your painting sessions as accidents can occur due to the nature of painting sessions.
  • COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Due to the recent pandemic outbreak, to ensure the health and safety of our customers, we have implemented the following practices:

    • We are currently NOT accepting walk ins or cash payments on arrival. All bookings must be made online via our website (with the exception of those redeeming gift vouchers - please follow instructions on your voucher to book) and payment must be made either via card payment or PayPal ahead of the event. We will close the booking system for the session 24 hours before the scheduled time (unless sold out earlier).

    • We are currently required to collect contact information from all bookings, in case of outbreak. Hence, please ensure the details you provide when you make the booking is accurate.

    • We have reduced the maximum capacity of our sessions to ensure we can meet COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing practices. We will strictly be adhering to the new capacity and unfortunately, we are unable to make any exceptions.

    • Different groups will be seated at alternate tables, to ensure social distancing practices

    • Deep cleaning and sanitisation of the studio and all equipment between every session

    • Doors will now be open only 10 minutes prior to the scheduled session start time, unless prior arrangements have been made (minimum 48 hours' notice via email). If you would like to drop off any items prior to this time, then head elsewhere whilst you wait for doors to open, this will be at the discretion of the team at the event

    • Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to offer any group booking discounts, as we have been greatly affected by the pandemic and are currently operating at reduced capacity

We have also made some adjustments to how our sessions will be run:

    • Upon arrival, we request that you apply the provided hand sanitiser. We will provide also your group with disinfectant wipes for you to wipe down your seating area, as well as painting equipment. If you require additional hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes throughout the session, please let a member of the team know.

    • Seating will be strictly allocated for our public sessions and we kindly request that you only sit where the team has directed you. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to change seats after your party has been seated as we are required to disinfect the area before we seat another booking, causing major delay to the session.

    • All required equipment for painting, including paint, will be distributed by our team only prior to the session. To minimise contact, unfortunately, customers will not be able to access paint bottles. If you require additional paint during the session, please let your instructor know.

    • Glasses will also be distributed by our team. If you require a different type of glass for your drink, please let the team know.

    • Our team will be moving around throughout the session to undertake regular cleaning of surfaces such as entry door handles, fridge door and in the bathroom.

    • We request that customers regularly wash their hands and practice good hygiene practices throughout the session. Please also remain 1.5m from other customers when lining up for the bathroom or to change paint water jars.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and compliance with the above during these unprecedented times.
